How to Get a Job
Getting to the final stage of an interview takes a plan and commitment.
Summary: No matter how long you’ve been unemployed or job seeking for the first time, and regardless of age and experience, what you do to get to the top of the unemployment queue relies on having a plan and actions to do every day – as if getting the job is your job. This straightforward book gives the reader straightforward strategies including:
· How to develop a great CV
· Using networks and opportunities to get your name in front of key people and decision makers
· Tips to getting onto a shortlist of applicants
· Interview rules and protocols
There is also a special section on protocols required when interviewing with Maori organisations.
Author biography: Robson Chamberlin has spent years hiring sales and teaching personnel, and training long term unemployed. Throughout all these experiences he’s made many observations about the spirit and actions required to get a job. He’s also experienced unemployment personally three times during his own work history. He learned a lot when as a 50+ year old he was (briefly) out of work in the 1990s and unemployment was at a staggering 10%.
