The Experts Edge Keith Abraham Notes Let go of goal setting – instead focus on the activity. Find the feeling associated with the outcome and work on what it will take to have that feeling every day. You can then start to create certainty. Keith contacts 35 people a week with notes, gifts, ‘hi-ya’s and value added purpose of some description and by focusing on the activity, he creates certainty in his outcomes. When you know the WHY the how starts to take care of itself. You have to have purpose behind your decisions - a reason for your activities, in order to make your passions a real part of what you do. When you know what you are passionate about, you can see more clearly what you need to do, and change to create better outcomes. SMART goals do not work anymore because they are not emotional. We need to be emotive about passions to determine what drives us and use that energy to drive us forward in achieving outcomes from activity. When we focus on the activity the intention becomes real and we start to create certainty. We all have 1-4 driving emotions. If we can determine what we feel about the success or intentions we have, then we’ll know what our driving emotions truly are. For example, to feel a sense of FREEDOM as a driving emotion, means doing things that enable that feeling to be felt regularly as part of your activities and actions. It’s not about just doing something for benign reasons – have a clear understanding of your purpose and your driving emotions in relation to that purpose. Identify the FEELING.
