Have You Written a Book?

Here’s what happens when a book or manuscript is presented to us:

We review it - giving it a quick read, and offering comments and feedback. If this goes no further, we reserve the right to charge $300 for this…. It’s a time consuming process, and if we didn’t charge for it, we’d be well-read, but broke!

If the author decides to go ahead and engage our services, we read the manuscript thoroughly, as  a ‘pre-edit’ to ensure we can effectively advise on the production and distribution, marketing and PR requirements for the book.

Then we pull our team of editors, design/typesetting, production, print and distribution people together and discuss the book with each of them, covering all of the angles for each member’s input into taking the manuscript and turning it into something that looks and feels like ‘a real book’.

From this point forward the process of development takes approximately 16-20 weeks from start-to-finish, and any publicity programme, a further 4 weeks on top of that. We will take care of the basic publicity including the obtaining of endorsements, listing your book with the databases book-sellers use to get information (in case someone goes into their store and asks for it), and sending press releases to editors and media to try and secure radio and TV interviews, and reviews in magazines and newspapers – both online and hard copy options.

All of the books we produce are done so on a ‘cost for service’ basis. This means that we charge a fee for project managing the entire process, including all of the design and editing services. We take your book up to the point of being completely ready to go to the printers - but you decide how many you wish to print, and pay for that yourself.

We also give you flexible options for publicity and ongoing distribution and general support, as well as advising on recommended print runs and other important decisions.

If you only have your book at the IDEAS stage:
We can asses the outline, give you options on engaging us to ghost write for you, and then ask for what ever materials you currently have, such as workbooks, CDs or DVD's of your speaking engagements to enable this to be easily done, injecting your own voice into what we write on your behalf.

Submitting Your Manuscript:

If you would like to discuss your book ideas please send us an email now, outlining what your book is about, who is the reading market for your book, and why you decided to write it. We’ll send reply and invite you to send us a manuscript or sample, with a confidentiality clause and then call you to discuss your options.

It doesn’t matter how far away you are from our offices, as we have successfully written and produced books with people from various parts of the world, some whom we’ve never actually met.

It would be helpful if you can please include the following information in this initial email:

• Identified reader/target market

• Subject area – including both specific and general outline please – i.e. the ‘industry’ and your ‘angle’.

• Why you feel someone would read your book.

• A brief synopsis of the content – i.e. and outline of the structure of your book.

• The number of words you have on paper so far!

We'll respond to you within 3 days with a suggested meeting... and you'll finally be on your way to becoming an author!
